Hello Springtime

The snow and ice are disappearing fast along the shore of Lake Superior! And by the look of the ice chunks coming down Temperance River, the ice is opening up in the woods as well! The weather is supposed to cool off this weekend, but that’s ok because even if we get snow it won’t last, Spring has officially moved in!

Between the melting snow and rain we have gotten, there is a lot of water running on the North Shore.
Temperance River for example is starting to put on a show and you can finally get to it without battling the ice.

A Flock of Robins?

April

Seeing a Robin this time of year is a sign spring is going in the right direction. Seeing 2 is luck. Seeing 10+ is something I (Alisha) had never seen before, until this week! First there were just a couple and the next thing I knew the whole tree was full of Robins eating berries off the tree!
If that’s not of sign of the end of winter I don’t know what is!!

More snow?

April

While the snowstorm hit yesterday, Lake Superior put on quite a show.
The waves broke up some of the ice that is still built up on the shoreline, and we got another 4-5 inches of snow.
Tonight we are supposed to get yet another storm bringing 4-8 inches of snow.
It seems we are going to have the winter scene a while longer before spring moves in.
