We are on day two of a winter storm. We haven’t gotten as much snow as alot of places but considering how much snow we already have I don’t think anyone feels like we are missing out. Since spring fever seems to be hitting hard lately I (Alisha) thought we could all use a glimpse of summer. Birds chirping and sunshine, flowers and bees. Green grass and WARMTH!
First day of spring is March 20th, it will be here before we know it!

While the cold temps haven’t made much ice on Lake Superior the winds and cold temps have made some pretty thick ice along the shore. And even though it’s tempting to go check out the beautiful ice formations make sure your careful! This video was before the snow we got on Saturday, so now all the ice covering the rocks is hidden by snow meaning it’s easy to slip!

We have been in yet another cold spell the last few days and the steam coming off Lake Superior is the proof. It was -18 this morning and the high so far has been -1.
While the steam is beautiful it almost makes you even more cold when you see it because we all know that water isn’t all that warm on a good day!

With all the cold temps we have had lately it’s no surprise that Lake Superior is making ice. This is the harbor in Grand Marais which had a lot of ice but not solid, if you watch closely you can see it move around.  Hopefully we will have a break from this cold snap and get the chance to play outside!
