After the big blizzard we got last week, the landscape has changed its look. Where there was barely any snow, we now have huge snowbanks. And the same holds true along Lake Superior as well, with ice built up from the strong winds and cold temps. Along the shoreline in Hovland the ice has gotten so high in spots you can’t see the lake, but when you look closer you can see the ice is covered with orb like ice chunks. Shows Lake Superior is beautiful in all the seasons.
Have a great week everyone and get out to enjoy the snow!
You know you had a true Minnesota blizzard when everything shuts down, including the highway. So when it clears and you’re staring at the 15-24 inches of snow you HAVE to get out to enjoy it! This video is from John Oberholtzer who got out to enjoy the ski hill and fresh powder first thing Thursday morning.
Have a great weekend everyone, hope you all get to enjoy the snow!
Sometimes the view of Lake Superior can make you just stop and say "wow...". This morning's sunrise was absolutely beautiful, especially as it reflected on the glass-like calm water. The odd part was there was a line in the sky that made it look like it was two pictures that were pasted together! But it was still a beautiful way to start the day. Maybe it’s the calm before the big snowstorm we are supposed to get tonight? We will see if we end up with the 18-21 inches of snow they are predicting, we all know Lake Superior likes to eat up storms as they move up the North Shore.
Have a great week everyone and thank snow!
The following is from Kim: It’s important to help our neighbors in need, everyone needs help at some point. Be kind to those in need, choose love not hate.
Turn up the volume to hear Kim’s convo with the bird who is obviously reporting a lack of birdseed 🙂
Have a great weekend everyone!
This little guy (or gal) has been at this feeder all winter and does not like to share. He chases away the other birds that just want the sunflower seeds, all because he’s protecting his suet. Obviously he knows the cold weather is coming back and he needs to keep warm.
Have a great weekend everyone!
