Even though the first day of winter isn’t until the 21st, winter has moved in. We started yesterday with rain, which turned into a nice coat of ice when the temps dropped and the winds started. Then Mother Nature decided to toss some snow into the mix for fun! We are supposed to get some more snow tonight so hopefully everything will look like a winter wonderland for Christmas!
Hope everyone has a great weekend and remember to be careful with all the ice under the snow.
The storm we got last night brought around 4 inches of snow along the Big Lake. Today everything looks like a winter wonderland again! Fresh snow in the yard show you all the woodsy neighbors who have been wondering around and the trees look as if they have been painted just for the holiday season. Hopefully we will get more tonight!
Have a great week everyone!
Anyone who has dipped their toes into Lake Superior knows just how chilly it is, so when you drive by and see steam coming off the water it always makes you pause. No arguing that it’s cold when that happens!
Aww the joys of winter.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Have you traveled into the woods to see the snow? Along the big lake there’s a few inches on the ground, but as you travel into the woods you will find more. Some trees even still have it balancing on the branches. Makes for a beautiful view.
Have a great weekend everyone!
It’s starting! There have been weather reports predicting anywhere from 3 inches of snow along the North Shore to 12 inches. Lake Superior enjoys eating up storms as they move up the shore as we all know, so it’s always a game of guessing how much we will actually get. Hopefully we will get our first big snow storm of the year and cover up the yards with some pretty white snow!
Have a great week everyone!
The skies put on quite a show this week. While cameras and phones can take amazing photos, the skies on Tuesday night were bright and beautiful without camera enhancements. Reds and greens streaks danced across the sky and created what looked like a water color painting. Definitely a great way to end a day.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
There’s something magical about looking outside the first few times it snows. Watching the snowflakes fall while the ground turns white makes you get excited for all the fun winter brings- skiing, snowmobiling, building snowmen….
Hopefully this will be a good snow year!
Have a great week everyone!
Here we go! Along the shore of the big lake there have been a few random snowflakes flying today, but if you travel up the Gunflint Trail the snow is falling! While we all know it won’t last since it’s still too warm, it’s fun to see the seasons changing. Hopefully this winter will bring a lot of snow for all the winter activities.
Have a great weekend everyone!
